Washington State Farm Bureau in Hawaii

This week many delegates from state farm bureaus’, supporters from agriculture communities and farmers from across the U.S. converged on the island of Oahu. They are there to attend the 2012 American Farm Bureau Federation’s [ AFBF ] annual meeting. One such delegate, Mr. George Irwin a cattle rancher from Enumclaw,WA was interviewed by my fellow agnerd twitter friend Janice @jplovescotton . Thanks Janice for sharing this with those of us not able to attend this year’s AFBF meeting.

After you watch this clip, head over to read Janice’s whole interview here and stop by her online home ‘a colorful adventure’, leave a note and tell her Mona sent you :) .

Mr.Irwin not only runs a family ranch breeding cattle in the Enumclaw area, he also serves on the King County Agriculture Commission and the King/Pierce County Farm Bureau . His son Brady  is a junior at Washington State University seeking his undergraduate in Agricultural Food Systems Economics, with plans to get his Masters in Agricultural Economics in the next three years. Brady was one of several WA students to receive  Washington State Farm Bureau’s 2011 Ray DeVries Memorial Scholarship . [ up to 5 are awarded each year] .

We thank Mr.Irwin for sharing his thoughts with us back here at home and allowing Janice to ‘goad’ him into being on camera.
